Commissioning an artwork is a very exciting prospect. Whether you are a pet owner, parent with a little one, have a photograph that you snapped which you would love to see as a painting, or simply have a special request for your ideal piece of art, please get in touch.
"I offer two types of bespoke commissions: portraits or paintings and generally, clients choose pencil drawing for portraits, and painted canvas for expressive, colourful scenes. However, please do get in touch if you want something slightly different to this on 07988 877215 or firstname.lastname@example.org
I generally like to start with an informal meeting where you and I can discuss any thoughts you have about the project. It is ideal if the subject is available to meet as well. This gives a chance for me to get to know the character and nuances of the person or animal to be represented, and to get more of a sense of them before starting the work.
You are welcome to visit me in my studio, though I have found that sitters are much more relaxed in their own environment.
At the meeting, I will bring my camera so I can can either take photos of the subject using the SLR camera, or you can supply a photograph(s) that you like for me to work from in my studio. If geography does not allow a meet, then I will arrange a FaceTime or Skype meet-up.
I will then return to my studio and review the material I have for reference. Around a week later I will be in touch about the composition and general direction. When I am about to start the piece I will get in touch to let you know I will start.
Throughout the making process I am happy to keep in touch to show how the work is coming along. If you would like regular photos then I am happy to provide this too.
Finally I would put together an Agreement Email detailing all aspects of the project (size/cost/timescales etc) for approval, with a 25% deposit requested as a firm commitment to the project. Then the work would begin from my studio, depending on workloads and complexity a portrait can take around a week. However, consideration will always be given should there be any specific deadlines involved.”
Your work can be framed in a white, black or oak frame with white or off-white mount. All frames are made in Britain, and made specifically for your piece, with care and attention by both the artist and the framer to make the best finished result possible. We don't make money on your frame, it is just a service provided to ensure that you have a complete product/gift for you to enjoy.
Your work can arrive with you by collection, or delivery via a reputable private courier. We deliver internationally too, subject to courier costs. All works are securely packaged in order to arrive with you in pristine condition.
As every portrait commission is unique, quotations are tailored to fit each request. Size, scale, background, single or multiple portrait, other detail etc, are all factors which must be considered. As a rough guide, I can send you a hidden webpage with my costings on which explains costs for my three most popular sizes and a choice of single, double or multiple portrait options. Just get in touch with your initial enquiry.
Commissions for anything other than a portrait
I offer canvases and murals for interior or exterior spaces. There are a lot of variables involved and so each painting is priced individually - price is calculated by the hours and materials taken to paint your commission. This is determined by factors such as size and complexity.
It can be daunting but a quote is free and nothing compares to having your own artwork delivered, exactly how you like it!
